Death notice of Donnagene Sturtevant (2021) – Shannon, Illinois

Donnagene (Linker) Sturtevant
Donnagene (Linker) Sturtevant, 87, returned home to be with her Lord on November 7, 2021. She was born on October 30, 1934 in Brookville Illinois, the daughter of Ralph and Mary (Martz) Linker. She graduated from Polo High School in 1952 where she quickly met the love of her life, Ronnie Sturtevant. They married on July 3, 1954, raised four children and celebrated 67 years of marriage. The services can be viewed live in the Donnagene group:
Donnagene had a passion for many things. In her youth, she enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds, and preparing meals for her family. She would love to decorate her whole house for the holidays ahead. Donnagene looked forward to weekends whenever there was a good auction so she could add to her many collections. She loved mornings when she ate breakfast, hung out with the boys around the kitchen table, and then looked forward to her many shopping adventures with her daughters. His greatest passion was his family. The whole family loved Sunday afternoons when Donnagene gathered everyone at home to share a meal and the fellowship. The grandchildren loved being around their grandmother’s table, where they were guaranteed a Pepsi night and a good card game. In fact, everyone loved being around Donnagene’s kitchen table because that’s where we’ve always received unconditional support and love. The Chicago Cubs could win the World Series again in 2022, as they now have one of their biggest fans going for them in Heaven.
Donnagene will be sadly missed by her husband Ronnie of Shannon; two daughters, Valerie (Duane) Ludwig of Shannon and Robin (Larry) Heckman of Shannon; two sons, Steve (Pat) Sturtevant of Shannon and Scott (Lavonne) Sturtevant of Lake Carroll; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by both parents; three brothers, Harold, Randall and Vernon Linker; and a granddaughter, Heidi Ludwig.
As a family we miss her dearly, but we also celebrate the fact that she is more alive than ever with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her dear Heidi Marie! “I fought the good fight, I finished the race, I kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4: 7
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Lanark Brothers Church, 326 S. High St., followed by interment in Lanark Cemetery. A memorial was erected to honor his memory.
