Gladys (Hillberg) Linér – Turlock Journal


Gladys (Hillberg) Linér was born in Marysville, California on June 5, 1913. Her family moved to Turlock in 1917 and settled in the “Youngstown Colony” neighborhood on Golf Road.

She completed her elementary school years at Johnson Joint School in this region, then graduated from Turlock High School in 1931.

She graduated from Emanuel Hospital Nursing School in 1936 as a Registered Nurse (RN).

She was married to Cliff Liner at the Covenant “Beulah” Church in Turlock in 1938. They lived in a number of cities in California as well as 10 years in Denver, Colorado and a short time in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

She was the head nurse in the pediatric ward at the San Mateo Medical Clinic for 16 years. Upon retirement, they moved to their mountain home in Mission Springs in Scotts Valley, California, where they lived for 13 years. They moved to Covenant Village in Turlock, California in May 1998.

She was predeceased by her husband, Cliff Linér, in 1997.

Survivors include his son Ren and wife Carolyn Linér from San Marcos, Texas and son Rod with his wife Patty Linér from San Carlos, California. Four grandchildren and five great-grandsons are also survivors.

She passed from death to eternal life on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Covenant Living, Turlock, Calif., At the age of 108.

She has requested that commemorative contributions be made to the Gladys Hillberg Liner Memorial Fund at the Mission Springs Christian Conference Center and Camps, 1050 Lockhart Gulch Rd., Scotts Valley, CA 95066.
