West Bend, WI – Vietnam Veteran Michael Orban of West Bend runs the Orban Foundation and hosts the podcast Veterinary zone without stigma. On Monday, August 23, 2021 at the War Memorial Center in Milwaukee, Orban will lead an event: The Afghanistan Conversation – a gathering of veterans and veteran families to discuss the impact of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
The War memorial center will welcome The Afghan conversation Monday 23 August 2021 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., presented by the Orban Foundation for Veterans, Advocate Aurora Veterans Program and Healing Warrior Hearts.
This will be the first of two events, with a second follow-up event scheduled to take place on Monday, August 30, 2021 also at noon.

The Afghanistan Conversation – is a gathering of veterans, service members and Gold Star families designed to discuss the impact of the withdrawal from Afghanistan. A panel of veterans from Afghanistan and Vietnam will open the event, sharing their experiences, supportive comradeship and healing efforts.
Keynote speaker Dr Gregory Burek, Aurora Veterans Program and Iraq Combat Veteran, will discuss the difficult situation that currently affects Afghan veterans, as well as a panel discussion comprised of Vietnam and Afghanistan veterans .
After the presentations, veterans will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact in an open mic “town hall” conversation with the panelist. Additional resources, veterans and organizations will be available to answer questions and offer support to all participants.

23 August 2021 Calendar of the event:
- 11:00 a.m. – Doors 3 openrd Upstairs memorial room
- 12:00 p.m. – Start of the event: panel introductions and presentations (Vietnam veterans, Afghanistan veterans, Gold Star family representative)
- 12:30 p.m. – Presentation by Dr Gregory Burek
- 12.50 p.m. – Round table of participants in the open-mike discussion
- 1:30 p.m. – Conclusion

Support teams will be on site from Hearts of healing warriors, Lawyer Aurora Veterans Program, the Milwaukee Virginia Division of Mental Health and the Captain John D. Mason Peer Support Program with the Medical College of Wisconsin. Support staff will remain on site until 3:00 p.m. to provide additional assistance as needed for participants.
